HELLO DANCERS
FIRST I HOPE YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES ARE ALL STAYING SAFE AND ARE WELL. SO I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SEE A WAY FORWARD IN THESE CRAZY TIMES TO GET BACK IN TO THE STUDIO AND SALVAGE THIS DANCE YEAR BUT THE NEWS WE RECEIVED OVER A WEEK AGO DOES NOT SEEM TO BE HELPING US. I HAVE BEEN DELAYING THIS POST AND THE INEVITABLE, SO I AM THEREFORE CALLING IT....THE DANCE SEASON IS OVER!!! TO SAY THAT I AM DEVASTATED AND HEARTBROKEN IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! WHY AM I CALLING IT!
I REALIZE THAT ALL THIS IS DONE TO KEEP MY DANCERS SAFE, BUT IT SURE TAKES THE JOY OUT OF DANCING!!! SO NEXT TUESDAY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 5PM AND 7PM WE WILL HAVE A PARTY IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE STUDIO WHERE WE CAN SOCIAL DISTANCE SAFELY, AND PLAY MUSIC, LITE AND PASS OUT COSTUMES AND SAY FAREWELL TO OUR GRADUATING SENIORS....MISS LILY AND MISS SARAH!!! HELLO ALL MY DANCERS AND FAMILIES!!!
I miss you all soooooo very much and can't wait for us to be together and we can get back to the studio. Unfortunately I thought we could announce today that we could go back on the 19th....BUT at today's press briefing with Governor Baker he stressed that the Department of Public Health's stay at home advisory remains in effect and gatherings of 10 or more people remain prohibited until May 18th. Non essential services, (which I take issue with...lol) requires that the public not enter brick and mortar existing bans or gatherings of more than 10 people until this May 18th deadline. So as this deadline approaches Governor Baker has stated that a report is coming out next Monday, May 18th that will include DPH approved workplace safety standards, industry frameworks and customer protocols and guidelines including enforcement mechanisms....BUT even all of this is dictated with the public health data and guidance from heath care experts.....so BASICALLY I DON'T KNOW WHEN WE CAN RE OPEN... BUT HERE IS WHAT I DO KNOW.....I really would like to get back to the studio and finish this season...the girls worked 6 1/2 months on a routine and we are so close ....so right now I would like to have the goal of going back in June sometime, based on the guidelines that I mentioned above and sometime this summer have a Recital. The girls were about half way finished with their Recital routines so I do believe that we can finish these routines.... I know the KP High School graduation has been moved to August first..so there is hope.... For now, lets hold tight till May 18th, next week, to see what guidelines are put into effect then we can put perhaps a schedule together. My attitude is that every child needs dance in their life, and that together we can make a difference by bringing a sense of normalcy to all my students.... stay safe and keep on dancing!!! Miss Kathy TO ALL MY STUDENTS AND FAMILIES:
I would like to take a moment to thank my dance families and especially my dancers!!! Keep the passion alive during these trying times, keep smiling, keep dancing, stay inspired and share your love for dance with your family members... We will get back to dance this year...think positive. It is truly inspiring to see our community as united as it is and support one another by practicing social distancing. Obviously the health and well-being and safety of my studio families are my highest priority. If all goes well we should be back in the studio the week of May 4th. Work on those splits and straddles. AND KEEP ON DANCING!! I hope that you are all staying safe and healthy during these most troubling times.
I certainly don't have to report to you that obviously we are in week two of the shelter in place order that has been called for from our Governor. And that the schools have been closed for a three week period. So we are under that order to close for this week and next and to practice social distancing. Last week Mr Greg put on our facebook page a week of activities so keep checking in to see what is new. In the meantime we would like to encourage all of our dancers to review the routines that have been given to you. Also take time to do a ballet barre workout, or go outside and practice those Jete' leaps. Just get out there and move!! Lets hope that we are back in the studio soon. I miss you all and wash those hands!! STAR SYSTEMS HAS CANCELLED THE COMPETITION THAT WAS DUE TO TAKE PLACE IN WORCESTER ON THIS WEEKEND.
AT THIS TIME THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN US THE RE-SCHEDULED DATE. MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW. WOW WHAT A WEEK....
Here is what I know as of tonight the Governor of Mass has ordered all public and private schools across Mass to close for 3 weeks. And he has limited social gatherings to 25 people. These measures are unprecedented. This situation is so fluid that it is changing not only daily but hourly. The safety of my students and instructors are the most important factor, so for the week of March 15th thru March 21st we will close. Gregory and I did a very thorough cleaning on Friday night after class. Next week we can access the situation. The largest class is 7 plus the instructor so we would be under that current guidelines of a social gathering of 25. BUT I AM NOT MAKING THAT CALL TONIGHT!!! However, if any of the KRDS, students, teachers or parents have any contact with any person affected with this virus, it highly recommended to self quarantine for 14 days. Stay safe, wash those hands and practice your routines at home!! This is certainly uncharted waters that none of us have ever experienced before. So stay tuned FOR THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 13TH ONLY, WE WILL MOVE ALL ROUTINES UP AN HOUR.
